Boxberger Appraisals leads the pack when it comes to technology
At Boxberger Appraisals, we have a confession to make: We always have the latest nerdy gadgets. From smart phones, to laptops, GPS, you name it. Call us geeks. Call us nerds. Call us what you will, but by all means, call us at (408) 394-6984 for appraisal orders in Santa Clara County! Why? We're glad you asked.
While appraisal fees haven't necessarily gone up over the years, the demands placed on individual appraisers have. We put quality first, but we know that turnaround time is critical since nobody likes to wait for results. Therefore, we've simply optimized our routine processes to do more in less time. Our continuous efforts to be the best have convinced us that keeping up with new technology allows us to provide more accurate reports, quicker turnaround times and excellent customer service.
Take a look at how Boxberger Appraisals makes ordering easier
Years ago, the majority of orders were delivered via fax and were confirmed with phone calls once we got back into the office. Often, in this scenario, it might of taken quite a while to hear back to see if the order could be taken. Things are quite a bit different now and when an order is placed on the site, we get an e-mail on our phones. We can even log into this site from the field and send back an e-mail confirmation – including the time and date for the inspection if we've been able to talk to the occupant.
At Boxberger Appraisals we understand it's all about "cycle time". We don't make you wait around for replies because we understand the speed at which we get things done directly effects your bottom-line. This website has proven to reduce cycle time for us and our clients by enhancing our communications.
Using Technology in the Field
One of the most time consuming parts of an appraisal is gathering the data. We spend quite a bit of time collecting both specific information about the subject property and general data about the local market and developing trends. Once again, technology has stepped in to help Boxberger Appraisals.
Instead of using paper forms and pencils and then re-keying all the information back at the office, don't be surprised to see us with a tablet PC or collecting data using an app created for our phones that even lets us sketch a floorplan right on the spot. And instead of using an outdated tape measure, a larger percentage appraisers are starting to use accurate laser measuring devices that also help measure hard to access areas.
We combine all of these different technologies to ensure that the final report is comprehensive and accurate, requiring fewer call-backs and revisions. A real money saver for busy appraisal clients.
Appraisal Report Delivery
At a very minimum, you can expect us to deliver your final report electronically as a PDF. Most of our clients prefer e-mail because we're all accustomed to getting attachments like PDFs in our mail. It's much more efficient than the old days before e-mail. But, we've even been able to improve on e-mail with how you receive your report with this website.
Everyone knows how frustrating it is to lose a file. Or have you ever had problems sending or receiving an e-mail because of the file size? We've come up with a solution for those problems, too. Whenever we send an appraisal, the client gets a link sent to their email to retrieve the PDF. So, at that point, it doesn't matter if all the extra photos and maps in the report result in a large file that would normally be blocked by e-mail. And the best thing is that the file will be hosted on this site for 90 days. So if anything happens to the file, you can log back in here and retrieve it again - saving you time, since we won't even need to run back to the computer.
Digital Workfile Technology
It would probably be easier if appraisers could complete a report, deliver it and never worry about revisiting that document again. But one of the purposes of an appraisal is as a legal document outlining the condition of a property on a specific date. Therefore, appraisers are required by law to keep their reports for 5 years, allowing them to recall any appraisal at any time to either defend the valuation or to be used in other legal proceedings.
Here again, Boxberger Appraisals uses all the technology available to us technology to improve service. We store every part of the appraisal - notes, sketches, supporting documentation and calculations - along with the appraisal electronically, we can pull up the entire file whenever it's needed and recall exactly what that assignment was about.
We just wanted to give you a little bit of insight into how we use our technology daily. Investing in the right tools, along with the appraisal know-how that you've grown to expect allows the appraiser to deliver reports quicker, more efficiently and with higher degrees of accuracy.
